Ċetta Mainwaring is a scholar and activist, whose research interests include migration, borders, solidarity politics, and the Mediterranean. She is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Edinburgh. Her first award-winning book, At Europe’s Edge: Migration and Crisis in the Mediterranean, was published by Oxford University Press in 2019. She currently holds a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship examining immigration detention, the way this failed policy travels internationally, and resistance to it in the UK, US, and Australia.
